Is there a way in the cps to adjust the brightness of the display it seem a little dim and the radio has FPP as an option how to I change some of the zones back to "normal"?

1. To control display brightness, your radio has to be equipped with that feature. It's called "DIM" and is added as a conventional menu item.

DIM

(Radio-User Menu Selection)

This menu item selection allows the radio-user to change the brightness of the radio’s display to one of four levels: from off to high, high to medium, medium to low, or low to off while operating in Conventional dispatch mode.

2. To change a zone from FPP back to normal, just delete the zone and then add it back. Of course, you do not want to check the box for FPP or it will convert it to FPP again and create FPP personalities to go with it.

I suspect you got ahold of one of the "tactical" XTS2500i variants, which was aimed at the military. The displays are dimmer - if memory serves, this is for compatibility with NVG.

The radio was bought off ebay the guy said he got it off someone on the board.
