HELP- Step by Step for tuning a duplexer

Post by jmetsdad »

Is there anyone out there that has a step by step on how to tune a duplexer. I have never done it and I really think I should know how. I would also like to know how to tune a Quantar repeater.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Step 1: stop by an MSS and fill out a job application.

Best done with a network analyser becasue you can see what's happening. See:

http://www.qsl.net/kb9mwr/projects/900m ... 7-3943.pdf

But if you had one you wouldn't be asking so failing that ... the first step is to idnetify what type of duplexer you have (band pass, notch, band pass band reject or some combination) then have a read of one or more of the following:

http://www.repeater-builder.com/antenna ... lexers.pdf

http://www.repeater-builder.com/motorola/t1500.html

http://www.repeater-builder.com/ge/duptuning.html

http://www.repeater-builder.com/antenna ... uning.html

http://www.telewave.com/pdf/TWDS-8008.pdf

Some Quantar instructions are covered here:

http://www.qsl.net/kb9mwr/projects/voip ... tuning.pdf

The instructions assume you have a R2670 Analyzer with the P25 option but you can use general bench gear. The key thing about these instructions are that they remind you of all the things that need checking!
