cdm1550 cps password

i just recently bought a cdm 1550 from ebay. i have used these radios many times before and always worked great. i went to program it and of course the cps is pw protected. i asked the seller if he knew the password and he informed me that it came in a cab that he bought in an auction. anyone have suggestions

If you have a non-password protected codeplug of an identical model, you may be able to clone it into the passworded radio, depending on CPS version. Otherwise, there are two methods which are detailed in this thread:

One method involves searching Windows RAM for the password using a program called Winhex, the other involves modifying your CPS to accept any password as valid, generally using a program called Hex Workshop.

This is the most important piece of info you'll need: Find Hex Values... 5B85C0742B and change to 5B85C0EB2B
