Problem with HT 1250 mic connector

The last three times I replaced the universal connector flex and escutcheon on a HT 1250, the mic would not make contact when installed. Are the holes in the new escutcheons not centered, or is it me? In the past, I have not had this problem.

Multiple radios, same problem, all escutcheons from same 10 pack. Are you having more problems now than in the past?

I have a case open with Motorola about this very problem. The holes are offset in the esc.
Still waiting for a response from Motorola.

The accy. contacts can be covered by the escutcheon if it was placed improperly if/when replaced.
The adhesive is pretty stout, and it takes a little effort to remove, but it can be done.
As many that have refurbished these models can attest, the accy. flex is a bear as the tiny PC board under the flex contacts must be lifted carefully as to not tear the flex assy.
Realigning the escutcheon is probably best done as a replacement with new, as the 'old' one will have stretch damage and may be missing adhesive, making direcct contact with the programmer's pins difficult.

I've had to reseat my program connector in order to force the CPS to read the radio, but I have never had dirt or oxide buildup issues to date.
Just attach the programmer, screw it down lightly, and move around a little to ensure the pins are making direct contact.

I think the machine that does these has been fixed. The last several cosmetic kits have been ok. Not sure if they did or will do an inventory purge as the holes were only about 3mm or so off center. I'm sure I have a whole pack of 24 bad ones that I'll have to figure out how to deal with.

I got my replacement escutcheons today and the holes are lined up correctly. Still no word from Moto on the case status but I told them not to ship the replacements until they checked the stock, so maybe they purged all the bad ones.
