What radios do you own?: Too many

TPN1154 current.

Post by PETNRDX »

Does anyone have the definitive answer to the current rating on the TPN1154 power supply?
Its the one used in things like the FLEXAR and the "Base Station Power Supply".
In general these are the ones just used for misc. stuff, about a foot long, 5 inches square.
I would call it a general purpose supply, probably the "one pass transistor" ( 1134? ) version
7 or 8 amps max, 2 continuous and the "two transistor" version might be near twice that.
Any body have the actual rating?

I've got a service manual with a section on the TPN1154A, it doesn't give any current rating that I can see, but it shows cables for connecting it to several different model radios with fuse sizes ranging from 6A to 15A, so your guess is probably pretty close.
