What radios do you own?: More than I can count

Newest version of professional

Post by RADIOMAN2002 »

We just received a HT-1250 radio back from depot, we cannot read or write to it. We use programming software ver 06.10.04. Now we are being told that there is a ver 06.12.00. Is this true? I have 06.11.00 but I don't want to disperse it among our shops, because it's a PITA having different versions of software out among 8 repair shops. Also if there is a newer version, what does it fix, can some one provide the reame.txt, or is this just another Motorola money grab.

That's interesting , 6.12.02 is not even showing up on MOL. Well i guess I'll just reflash the radio back to 06.10.04. I am going to hold out for as long as I can. Is there any real reason for this upgrade, the last one was only 6 months ago.

Radioman, if you are successful in downgrading the firmware in the radio, let me know how you accomplished this.

I have a customer with plug-in Transcrypt boards, where the radio and the board won't communicate above a certain firmware revision. So every time I send a radio to depot, I need to have a wire-in board waiting when it comes back. Motorola will not just fix the radio, per internal policy they :x NEED :x to update the firmware as well.

With the license agreement and subscription, you should have a 3 year update on your MOL account. Moto sends me new updated CD's when updates come out as well as I can down load the newest version off of my MOL account. The 6.12.2 will correct some checksum errors that occure due to older versions.

OK, I don't remember whether I posted the fix here or another site. I have NOT found a way to downgrade the FIRMWARE, but I have successfully gotten around the Waris code plug too new style error with these radios I got back from Depot. I have done it on 6 radios already with no problems. Using US Waris Codeplug Tool-R02.06.01 or US Waris Lab Upgradekit(R03.03.00) I rewrite the Tanapa number file into the radio. That apparently fixes the code plug too new error, but doesn't change the firmware version. BTW make a copy of your tuning information and code plug BEFORE you do this procedure. You will also have to use the hacked Tuner program or Waris Depot to fix the serial number, before you can write back the tuning information.
As far as my subscription, it is good until June this year, but the issue isn't about the software its the fact of having to disburse it. The code plug check sum issues I correct with dumping the Tanapa back in, rather than Motorola's fix in the newer software packages. I trust a clean code plug as opposed to a patched one.
