XTS-3000's dropped on me to program, no clues....

Post by NavyETRadioGuy »

Maybe I could get some assistance with this problem. I'm in the Navy, and we have primarily been using XTS-5000's. Recently, someone had the bright idea to get used radios to augment what we have. Just fine, but nobody knows a thing about them. After doing much digging on the web and this site, my head is spinning. I have the CPS. I have the cable and R.I.B. I can read the radio. Now comes to my problems. With a 5000, I can program in freqs for each channel along with PL/DPL/CSQ info and all. A 3000, heh, no. What do I need to be able to modify the radios. Roughly 30 to 40 Mod2/3 and 50+ Mod1. Any missing info please let me know. Any help would be very much appriciated.

The install disk for the CPS has a series of tutorials that are really worth watching if you've not done this before.

In the CPS for the Astro 25 platform (the family the 5k belongs to) the freqs are associated with the Zone Channel Assignments whereas on the older Astro platform (Astro Saber/Spectra and 3k) the freqs are set in the Conventional Personalities.

So with that alone I am back on track... Thank you. Wish I would have asked on here about a week ago, might have some hair left.
