The MCS2000 is an excellent radio with great flexibility - H/L power toggle, user SQ adjust , alpha tagging, nuisance defeat , DTMF strings for IRLP, zone toggle to provide "repeater input" or "deviation adjust" etc etc
The only limitation is not being able to scan more than 16 channels at the same time.
I wonder if there are any mods which enable more channels to be scanned? - possibly by linking together several "16 channel scan zones".
The RX performance of my MCS2000 is better than the latest model of a rival manufacturer - particularily for weak signal work - although the rival manufacturer radio does have the ability to scan all channels at the same time
Thanks

One can only wish...seems this is a limitation of all motorola radios.

Someone into hacking could figure it out. I know in the Maxtrac/radius series, it is in the eprom firmware as I have swapped chips without doing anything else, and that is one thing I noticed. The 99ch Maxtrac will allow all 99 to be scanned I think, at least I put a LOT in the scan list and never got a limit.
I would sure like to know because that is one big "mistake" in the MCS2000.
