Waris Housing Differences - MTX8250

Post by JPOPatents »

Hi all,

I picked up an MTX8250 that was manufactured in late 2007. I've had may Waris model radios, both older and newer than this one, but I haven't seen this style of housing. Around the display, the face is smooth instead of textured like the rest of the housing. Also, the Motorola name is stenciled on the front of the housing instead of an adhesive label being used. Is this an old style housing, new style housing, or just an oddball?

The housing you have on that is one of the original styles. Motorola switched to a label because the stencil would wear off
and you couldn't identify the radio as a Motorola from the front. Also changes were done to the brass insert for the accessory
connector and the metal plate that holds the keypad board in place and the housing was textured.

If you want the newest style it is PMLN4373G PREF FULL FRONT COVER SATRIA $142.00 List

Thank you Allen. I have this style housing on a radio manufactured in 2007, so I'm thinking that the radio was re-cased at some point with an old housing in stock. I've purchased radios from Motorola that were made before then and they had the "newer" style housing.
