Astro Saber TX VCO Frequency

Post by redbeard »

I have a VHF AS3 that i am dumping 1c5e into. The radio had a setting of 164.85 in the radio before I started, and when I try to put it back after the whore flash it gives me FAIL 01/92. If I change it to something closer to the default (161.505) then it recovers and seems to work somewhat. I have restored it back to the original s-rec and double checked just to be sure I had the right stuff written down but 164.85 is what Astro Tuner says it is. I tried to find more info on the setting but I must have the wrong manual because the detailed service manual didn't have much to say on the subject. Anyone else experienced this in converting one of these?
Look, it's not in my nature to be mysterious. But I can't talk about it and I can't talk about why.

Makes sense kinda, since the codeplug has Lab-level tuning softpots in it that aren't available to regular RSS/CPS.

I'd set it to 161.505, program, then make up a test codeplug with channels throughout the band to make sure it's not unlocking in random places.
