CDM 1550LS+ Programming Issue
My fleet uses CDM 1550ls+. 403-470 mhz, some are remote mounts and some are not. My problem is when I try to program the remote mount CDM's,Using a ribless usb cable, I cant read or write to the radio. I have to uninstall it and put the head back on the radio and it programs fine. I talked to Motorola tech suport. They took a CDM off the shelf and programed it remotely with an rj45 like I did and they said it programed just fine. I am puzzled as why mine wont do that. And Ideas?

this is common and don't know why motorola won't admit it. either program it from the rear 20 pin or put the head back on the radio

Re: CDM 1550LS+ Programming Issue
I run into this when I'm programming radios installed by other shops. Actually just one other shop which will remain nameless.
They used 8-conductor flat satin cable with RJ-45's to connect the control head to the transceiver. Replace with the MOT cable that uses the 10-pin modular connector, and it becomes a non-issue.
