not a big deal, all it says is today CONSUMER PC's cannot be ordered with XP, downgrading is still possible, more importantly SP3 still has close to 3 years of support left (2014 so they article says) so XP isn't going anywhere overnight.

I know some organizations are still running NT4 SP6 on some workstations despite it no longer supported for several years.

I still have some dos boxes in service as well as a couple WFW boxes. Compaq and IBM used to make some great machines.

It's part of a scada system. Runs the polling process and gathers inbound packets.
