Frequency reference

For all of you in the LA area we have completed locking all of our Quanters on Signal Hill to a GPS reference.

Back in the analog tv days I used to use a network locked sound carrier on 175.25Mhz

Our most active frequency is 460.125 PD1. That is 24 hours. The other channels are used on a rough time table.

After 11AM all 4 dispatch channels are used. 460.125, 460.225, 460.35, 460.2.

Good stuff. I have a GPS reference I keep everything at home locked to, and it is backed by rubidium which is backed by an OCXO. It's an Efratom unit. Can't beat it. Nice to know things are where they are supposed to be.

I also keep all the PC's and network peripherals at the house locked to WWVB via a Spectracom Netclock/2 and Netclock/ETS.

I am a standards whore.

I have a china surplus Ebay Trimble Thunderbolt GPS that I keep my home HP8920B locked to.
At under $150 for all the parts it was a no brainer.

No kidding. The Efratom and Netclock were junkers from work, and I bought the ETS for like $100... Worked out really nice.
