Charging MTS2000 battery in Visar charger?

As a temporary measure, can you charge an MTS2000 battery in a Visar charger?

I guess an MTS2000 battery does not actually fit a Visar charger, but can you fasten it on with tape etc as a temporary measure? As both radio are Jedi's, I presume the battery charge pin configuration is the same?

As long as the pins line up I don't see why not. When I got my first Jedi early in the run, I couldn't get a charger, so I put the Jedi in a Saber charger. The pins lined up, & a couple of matchbooks held the battery in place. My friend still does this, & after 17 years, hasn't had any problems. I'd probably try it on your worst battery though, just to see if it works. GARY N4KVE

Considering they make an adapter to put a visar battery into an xts/jedi/saber impres charger, I would hope so!

I have not yet got the MTS2000 battery to test, but I'm thinking that maybe the battery guidance slots on the Visar charger will stop an MTS2000 battery from making direct contact with the Visar charger pins. Hopefully I'm wrong!!! Any thoughts.

Physical fit aside: yes. As I've charged my Visar in a Jedi shoe charger without any problems.
