Hello all,
I have a APX7000. On the back of the radio were normally sits the serial tag there is a label which says: "This device has not been authorized as required by the FCC. This device is not, and may not be, offered for sale or lease. or sold or leased, until authorization is obtained."
Maybe it's an early test radio, not sure...
So far so good.
But if I put the radio in servicemode, the modelnumber is H18UCH9PW7AN which is for a XTS5000
I've uploaded a video of the complete servicemode info : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4nqbMHsYIU
If I try to read it with ASTRO CPS R14.00 it comes up with an error: "unsupported model"
If I try to read it with APX CPS R04.00 it comes up with the error: "Could not find a radio connected to a USB port."
If I have a look in the Windows device manager there is a modem called XTS5000 radio.
I don't recall when installing the APX CPS there was a driver installed. So it may just take the XTS5000 USB driver. I'm not sure if the are the same.
Hopefully someone can give me some advice...
Thanks!
Regards,
Robert.

Re: APX7000 with identity crisis
Things I would try:
-Latest APX software (R05.01 I believe)
-Reinstall APX 7000 USB driver
-Uninstall the older ASTRO stuff

Re: APX7000 with identity crisis
Sounds like it's a beta test unit.

Nice boat anchor.

That anchor could be hoisted with the right tools.
Re: APX7000 with identity crisis
If someone has the right tools at hand, it would be nice to have it fixed.
Otherwise it makes an exclusive doorstop.
Overseas they are very rare.
