Saber I Side Buttons

Post by screech67 »

I have a saber I, top button opens the squelch, what function do the bottom two perform. One has 1 dimple, the other 2 dimples. I know it is scan capable so perhaps one toggles the scan function?, how do you know if the scan is on or off? I have the Saber rss manual but I don't see any reference to programming the side buttons.

Thank you
Mark

those buttons only worked in sabers with a COPE of 6 or higher they could be used for RAT tones ( repeater access ). The buttons worked on systems sabers with a CON of 5 or higher. No standard saber I's are able to scan. Systems sabers could and the scan was turned on and off with the side button

Model H99QX+052H ID H43YXN7139CN according to the chart shows scan capable. Am I wrong in calling it a Saber I? It has no front buttons or display, it has "Saber" top right on the face and "securenet-s" on the top. Well after reading a "note" on the saber description page even though it has a "C" revision the saber I is not scan capable. Since the model number complies with saber models I assume it's not a systems saber.

Thank you

Mark,

The use by Motorola of the "CN" suffix on the standard Saber I is a long-standing error, plain and simple. A Saber I will not scan, period.
