I know this question has been asked many times and I have tried to use our 'wonderful' search feature but I've been looking in the CPS .exe file with HexWorkshop and sure can not find the band limits. Would some kind soul point me in the right direction.

Re: MCS2000 below 146MHz
It's actually one of the easier radios to move out of band. I haven't checked how far down it'll go before it unlocks or the front end filters start killing RX, but I know it'll go to 144MHz without any noticeable degradation in performance. The procedures are very similar to the MTSX RSS. The biggest difference is the band limits are in Hz, not MHz like in MTSX. Make a backup first, then do a search for 146000000 (80C8 B308) in MCS2000.exe; there should be only two instances in the file. Change both to whatever you need. Save and give it a try, should let you program down to whatever you put in. I have a couple 110w MCS2000's operating on the low end of the 2-meter band and a 900MHz MCS on 927MHz with no issues at all.
And I just finally read the end of your post
...it's good info for other members anyway
