XTL5000 O3 multiple profiles

Post by SO_RSU12 »

I think I remember reading or hearing somewhere that Motorola radios were capable of changing profiles or templates if a "code" was entered into the radio's keypad. Example: an admin person picked up a lesser programmed radio, he could enter a code and unlock his template to that radio. Has anyone else heard of this function? Is that an OTAR or OTAP function? Is it an option that can be flashed into the radio or where would I find it in CPS? Currently working on an XTL5000 P25 700/800MHz radio with Handheld Remote Control Head. Thanks in advance to all that respond.

Can't say I've heard of that. Radio lock comes to mind when you mention a code, but radio lock just makes the radio unusable until the password is entered upon power up. But I don't think that's what your wanting to do.

On a side note. I have heard a rumor about Ma/Com's OpenSky trunking system having a user login that programs the radio with your approved channels, but I can neither confirm or deny that due to the fact that I've never seen that in person. Much less researched OpenSky that much.
