I'm new to encryption.
If a digital P25 system that is currently using ADP encryption and XTS2500's.
If the system stops the ADP will the field XTS2500's hear the clear transmissions?
If not is there a CPS setting that will allow both clear and secure transmissions?
If there is a CPS setting - Is the default to allow both?

Re: ADP Encryption XTS2500
Yes, it should work both ways- as long as the radio has the correct encryption key programmed into it.
When the radio is in the clear and an encrypted transmission comes through, as well as when the radio is set to encryption and a clear transmission comes through, the encryption "circle/slash" will flash.
If the key is wrong of course, only garble will come out of the receiving radio's speaker.
So, in the end, yes the radio can discern and properly decode either clear or encrypted.

What about the 'proper code detect' option?
