MTS2000 programming question.
Hello. I was adding 1 ch to several UHF MTS2000's I own, & I ran across something I didn't understand as each radio had a different setting. Conventional personality box where you add the actual freq's. RX options box there is a setting for RX unmute delay. Some radios were set at 0, some were set at 100ms. What does this do, & what is the best setting? I ended making them all the same @ 100ms. Mostly ham freq's & some simplex freq's. Thanks for any help. GARY N4KVE
Re: MTS2000 programming question.
IIRC that is a delay before the speaker comes alive. Probably to delay the audio after the MDC. ect signaling.
I set them to 0.
I set them to 0.
Re: MTS2000 programming question.
It depends on if your receive channel is using MDC, single tone or a quick call type of signaling method to open the receivers squelch.
Some required delay is needed so that the receiver can process the signaling data before opening the squelch.
IE delay unmuting the radios squelch until proper signaling is received.

So if I don't use MDC, or any type of signalling I should use 0? Thanks for the help. GARY N4KVE
Re: MTS2000 programming question.
Yes that's what i use on all of my non signaling channels.
I have a small percentage of MDC and quick call channels that I use a 100 ms delay which works fine but 99% of my channels are analog using 0 and never a problem.
