Stuck XTS3000 Clear/Secure Switch.

Post by KC9KFJ »

Good afternoon! The clear/secure switch on my XTS3000 is stuck in the "secure" position. It was working fine a few days ago, but I when I tried moving the switch, it wouldn't budge. The radio has not been taken apart or dropped, and I can hear a rattling sound coming from the rotary knob/ switch area when I lightly shake the radio. The switch seemed slightly looser a few days before this happened. Are there any fixes for this? I'm planning on purchasing a new housing in the future, but I would like to fix the switch if possible.

Thanks for any suggestions!

You'll have to remove the housing and the channel knob assembly to see if the plastic came apart. You may have to order a replacement piece check on MOL I don't have the part # but I will look as well.
