MIP 3.0

Post by Winger2002 »

Anyone play with it yet? interested how the mototrbo gateway acts, or any issues, hopefully the MDC id's through digital gateways are being logged correctly.

I haven't had the pleasure yet. This is why I'm leery of new Motorola product though...it took 3 major platform releases before the MIP could do seemingly standard things such as ASTRO PTT-ID with Alias, and 12 or 24 hour timestamp in the activity log. It's finally approaching a complete product offering level.

I completely agree.

Unless I am forced into it, I avoid the first year (or 2) of new product release. I try to let other by the guinea pigs. This goes well beyond Motorola product to other major items, cars included.

Trbo gateway works, no using the keyboard to send texts though, sigh. Seems a little more stable.

I am told that keyboard texting is in development now. It looks like we will be installing a couple in a few months. It will be using MOTOTRBO interface.

Have one in place since February. Doesn't support ID logging from MCS2000s, and the character display update when changing zones doesn't update all of the entire string, just the characters in the new string. Also have heard but cannot confirm the HASP key is pretty easy to defeat

Strange I've had no issues with an MCS model III at version 1,2, or 3 with the display issue, I believe I lost logging IDs at version 2 though.
