XTS 5000 scan unmute/non scan unmute setting problem

I was given a XTS5000 radio today to program for a friend. The radio checks ok however in non scan mode it does not unmute the audio. i tested it on a test freq and same thing. However in scan mode it will unmute everything, priority channel and scanning channels. To begin with it appears some one monkeyed around with the radios code plug whom had no idea it seems what they were doing. I played with it a bit but before I spend endless time on it I figured Id ask if there are any ideas what I missed in CPS to solve the issue.

What unmute rules have been selected for these channels

I believe I have fixed the problem, here is what I changed

Conventional Personality>Conventional Personality-1>RX Options>Unmute/Mute Type: 'And unmute/std mute'
Conventional Personality>Conventional Personality-1>Mdc>Decode>Unmute Type: 'or'

Prior it was this, all channels using a PL

Conventional Personality>Conventional Personality-1>RX Options>Unmute/Mute Type: 'And unmute/or mute'
Conventional Personality>Conventional Personality-1>Mdc>Decode>Unmute Type: 'and'

Thats all I changed and it has audio now off scan. Is there a recommendation for scanning and non scan with the above that works or is better?
