Hello all

I have a low band Radius mobile, which is programmed to 10m FM channels, and would like to find out some functions I haven't yet found out how to set or figured out their meaning:

Squelch? There is no setting for squelch level in the RSS, is there a pot inside the radio or is it set with the control buttons?

Mon button? When mon is pressed for 1sec time, the sq opens. When pressed for another 1sec or 2sec in a row, a '-' sign appears to the display (eg -1), whats the function of the sign?

Exit button? When pressed, the rightside number starts to alternate with '=' sign. When pressed for 1sec time, the channel number starts to blink and you can select the channels and set a ´-sign to the left side number, as like selecting the channel for scanning. If the select button is pressed for 1sec time, the selection tag appears and also the green led comes on.
The green led can't be activated to more than two channels at the same time. This looks like selecting the priority channels.
Although it seems that the radio is not scan capable, as when I hit the EXIT button once and the = sign starts to alternate with selected channel, scan does not stop on signal on 'selected' channels.

The model of the radio is D51LRA9732BK

The squelch is pre-set inside the radio by a small pot on the receiver board. It is the one sortof in the middle left near the receiver IF chip. The other ones are near the connetor pins and at the front edge of the receiver board.Watch out there are two or three pots and you do not want to tweek the wrong one.
Monitor button: pres to disable coded squelch a nd again to enable. Mon led lights.

Press the Monitor for a longer time and the " - " appears, this is the extender noise blanker disable. Press longer yet and the radio un squelches so you can set the volume, noise in the speaker.

Scan - you need to connect the mic hook to GND for scan to work. I use a mini croc clip attached to the mic hook and antenna GND socket.

My 10m Maxtrac was originally a 6 channel version which had NO scan. I used LAB RSS to Blank and Initiatalize into a 32 channel radio with scan.

Repeater Builder site has pdf copy of Maxtrac operating manual - just search on "Maxtrac 300 manual"

To open SQ on my Maxtrac (to get white noise) you press and hold the Mon button for 2 bleeps and then release. Basically you get one bleep when you initially press the Mon button - keep it pressed until you hear the 2nd bleep and then quickly release..you then get white noise. Its not as easy as other Motorola radios given the timing issue!!! If you hold it too long, other things happen (I think)!!

Also, the key legends on a 6 and 32 radio are different. As my radio was intially 6 channels (now modded to 32 channels) , the SCAN key was originally labelled as EXIT..so I press EXIT to scan.

The alternating "=" sign when you press Exit (to start scanning) is because the mic hook is not connected to GND. When you connect the mic hook to GND, you just get a steady "=" and the radio is then scanning.

As you have an "Exit" key, it looks like your radio has already been modded from 6 to 32 channels. Pressing Exit starts the radio scanning. On an original 32 channel Maxtrac, the Exit key is actually labelled as "Scan"
