Can't Edit Frequencies With Astro25 CPS

Post by N6LAU »

Okay, so I'm new to programing Astro25 gear and ran into a major problem today when trying to program an XTS2500. Radio is S-split with Host:R09.00.10 DSP:R14.00.00, 4 Meg, Flashcode: 5A1018-10178C-5 and I'm using CPS version R09.00.00 Went to program the radio this morning and I can't find a way to edit the frequencies using the CPS ie the "General" tab is missing from the "Conventional Personality" window. The radio has FPP but I'd like to be able to enter out of band frequencies for ham use via the CPS. Is there something I'm missing here?

I believe in the Astro25 cps the frequencies are changed in the zone channel assignment area.

The TX/RX freqs and tones are assigned in the Zone Channel Assignment screen. The idea is that multiple channels can share the same personality.
The bandsplit is only a suggestion.

Okay, thanks found it. Now I've run into some more issues. When I try to enter the freqs on the Zone Channel Assignment screen all I'm allowed to do is select from a drop-down list of several frequencies, all of which I might add are out of the radios bandsplit (406.xxxxx, 8xx.xxxxx, 9xx.xxxxx, etc.). I'm unable to directly type in my desired frequency and interestingly enough all the fields for RX freq and TX freq are currently empty with the boxes outlined in red. Another thing I've discovered is I'm unable to delete zones, zone channels, or conventional personalities (the delete button/option is greyed out).

I don't know what to make of all this except frustration. Is all the above normal for Astro25 CPS or am I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Can you post a screenshot of this behavior?

Thanks

On the CPS tool bar go to VIEW - OPTIONS - FREQUENCY OPTIONS and unselect 'Enable Frequency Picklist' and you should be able to enter frequencies from the Zone pull down menu.

That did the trick, thanks! Any idea why I can't delete zones, channels, or personalities?

Is the Protected Zone box checked on the Zone tab?

This is an FPP radio so each channel must have its own personality. Also the first 10 Zones, which are dedicated to FPP, can't be deleted.
