I came across a little quirk today.
Some of you know that I've modified a MTX9250 for really out of band operation.
I wanted to realign the mute to something a little more suitable for ham use eg: make the mute as sensitive as possible, rather than needing a near-noise free signal before the mute opens. So, poking around in Global Tuner, I make a few adjustments... and the mute stuck open. Putting the values back to normal didn't restore things back to normal.
I think what is happening is that my really out of band freqs have some 'hidden' softpot values, displayed by the Global Tuner as 'invalid frequency' to adjust the mute and so does not give the option to adjust, but none the less, the value is there in the background. It seems as if any editing of 'permitted' frequencies' mute settings also overwrites these 'hidden' values with a fixed low value which results in the mute staying open on the out of band freqs.
Good thing I saved my softpot settings as an image file as the very first step, and was able to restore the 'hidden' settings that way.
But the original problem remains... other than lengthy trial and error editing the softpot image file with a hex editor, is there a way to edit softpot settings for out of band freqs that the software never expected to be edited?
