Using MIP5000 Gateway without the MIP5000 console running

Post by denisg »

Hello,

Anybody have used the MIP5000 Gateway (L3482 or other model) without a MIP5000 radio console running.

The purpose of this configuration is for carring in IP format several RX signals from different locations up to a master point for monitoring and logging purpose. The IP logger is a Comlog-CVDS compatible with the VoIP codecs.

The L3482 use the G.711 codec, but I'm not shure it is fully compliant to the G.711 standard Codec. If Motorola have modified any part of the codec for the MIP5000 application, the logger can have some problems to work with the IP signal provided by the L3482 Gateway.

The customer dont want to do any dispatch functions with the gateways. Only receiving and logging. It's why we really dont need the MIP5000 radio console software.

Thanks,
