I have an old Jedi battery which is "rejected" by an original Jedi pod charger - green light after a few minutes ..originally light went green after 10 seconds.
However, I can trickle charge the battery using a homebrew set up..I have a meter in line so I can monitor the voltage slowly rising as the charge progresses.
When the old battery is fully trickle charged I get about 15 hours RX time which is OK.
I think the internal resistance rises in old batteries which causes the Jedi fast charger to refuse to fast charge. But maybe the fast charger "threshold" is set too high so it rejects batteries which are, say, 70% "good"???
I have some SP10 batteries which are 16 years old and still charge on the original Motorola dumb fast/slow charger. The batteries work OK but would have probably been rejected years ago by a Jedi fast charger!!!
How many "70% good " Jedi batteries are binned because they will not fast charge??
Can you buy a 3rd party fast Motorola Jedi charger which is more "tolerant" of higher internal battery resistance??
Jedi battery - no fast charge but trickle charges OK
