XTL Mobile Deviation

Post by n3obl »

On the xtl1500, I modifed the band edges to do the amateur band however each conv channel seems to not allow me to change the tx deviation from 5 to 2.5

Is the deviation locked at 5 on the 900 mobiles?

It shouldn't be. 900MHz commercial operations are 12.5kHz narrowband...

I would think the field would be locked at 2.5 for deviation. Looks like Im going to have to check it on a service monitor.

Dumb question, but does the radio for some reason have a securenet board in it, or have hardware secure enabled? That will cause the radio to lock at 5kHz in analog mode.

I could be mistaken but I do not think the XTL1500 will do encryption.

While it's not supposed to, with the tools floating around today who knows what's possible.
