MCS2000 head change question

Post by wcu02mpa »

I have several MCS2000 model-3 radios and am wondering if I can use a model-2 control head (even with reduced functionality)? I have also found a model-3 head which came off of an IDEN radio and works when I plug it in. Is this the same as a true MCS2000 control head but with a different keypad?
I may not fire the first shot, but I will fire the last one.

yes, i have frequently used mod 2 control heads on radios which came with mod 3s & vice versa.

I have a model III radio. UHF high power.... Came with no head. I am trying to use a model II head. It will not recognize that it has a model II head on it. Any suggestions??? Also does anyone have a good working model III remote head for sale??
