Xts3000, deleting trunking system in CPS

Post by dougb736 »

I have a couple xts3000 radios. One i have never had issues with programming. I have always programmed with conventional and there is only a default 0001 trunking system in that codeplug. The newer 3000 i have contains a trunking system that requires a system key to write back to the radio. I am not finding a way to delete that trunking system and put back in just a default system. I dont have any systems keys and i'm only wanting to program that radio with conventional. Is there some kind of default key for system 0001 that i need to load to create a new default system so i can delete the other system. From what i have read, you need to leave one trunking system in the codeplug. Right now in CPS I dont have options to add or delete a trunking system. Any recommendations for how to handle. Advise if folks need to know any additonal radio specs. Can i or should i try writing the code plug from the clean radio to the one that has the trunking system in order to overwrite. Not sure if even possible as some differences in dsp, host, flashcode.

If they are the same model read the radio that is the way you want, do not read the radio to be programmed, use the clone menu to load the desired programming in the the new radio. The trunking info should be gone and no syskey should be needed.

Just create a new trunking system and it will default to 0001. Then delete all the others and the system with 0001 will remain. One trunking system will always remain in the CP. Not sure if there are any trunking personalities attached to the other systems, but if they are they need to be deleted as well except for a default.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. I will into this method further. The only concern i see is the models are almost the same, the only difference is one ends in AN and the other is a BN. I think that means they are just a minor revision differnence, should this cause a problem with cloning? Also one is a Model II and the other is a Model III.

Ks4vt-that was the method i thought i should have been able to use. But i currently do not have the option to add or delete a trunking system in the CPS. All buttons on the trunking system screen is gray, i am not able to add like conventional personalities or astro systems. I do understand i need to add a system first so i can remove the other as the radio needs to have at least the one system. Is there a certain process i am overlooking to create this default system. I have no system keys as i am just going to need conventional myself. Is there a key needed to create even this default 0001 system if it does not exist. I checked and can also not add or alter trunking systems on the good radio that just has the 0001 default system, but i have no trouble changing or writing the contents of that radio.

Mark - in order for him to be able to do this he needs a cps trunk sys programming key, that would be any sys key.

Doug - without any(with zero sys keys loaded in cps) system key cps will not allow you to delete or add a trunk system.

If you could obtain any trunk sys key cps should allow you to add a default new trunk system and you could
delete the one in question you wish to delete.
