Difference in old 05 heads and new

I remember briefly reading about there being different revisions of the XTL5k 05 head. I can't seem to locate the thread that described the differences using the search and was wondering if someone would be able to provide a brief overview on how to determine which head I have.

if there is no part number on a sticker on the head then you can probably find another one inside the head on one of the rf shields. motorola puts the part number label in 2 or 3 places on those things
