MTX810 battery?

Post by Spiffy50 »

Hey guys, I've got an MT1000 that has been re-cased in an MTX810 case. I can't seem to find any batteries for the MTX810 anymore. Anyone have a part number? I can order the HT600 style still, but it is a lighter shade of color and I'd like to stick with the same, if I could :)

same as the MT1000 battery, NTN5447x is the hi-cap Nicad OEM battery, if it's still available.

Perfect, thank you very much! NTN5447 was indeed the correct part number. $99.75 CAD on MOL. Ouch, I was hoping it would be cheap. You could buy the whole radio for less these days!

if you check around on that famous auction site, you may find some sellers with some NOS ones for 20-30 bucks a piece. Lots of aftermarket ones out there, but beware most are NiMH and without a simple modification, the standard Genesis rapid chargers will overheat a NiMH pack and make them useless in short time. (After all these radios were made before NiMH technology existed!)

It's unfortunate as I have about 6 of those radios I got for $10 each a while back, but I won't shell out for those batteries, as it's not worth it. They are great radios though. They just sit as the volume knobs crumble to dust. LOL GARY N4KVE

Also the P200/P210 batteries will fit (but black). The good part is batterues from that era were really excellent, I have (5) 12+ years old analyzing over 90 % so a chance for a few $ might yield a good result.

12 years at 90%? Someone takes care of their batteries! Really off chance, but I wonder if anyone makes a Li-Ion battery for these that would (somehow) charge in a newer charger?

I had NiMh's years back but I think that's as far as they went before cancellation on the OEM end.
