Need help finding a Motorola part (Plastic Radio holder)

Post by MT2000 man »

Well, I'm not even sure if it IS a Motorola part, since I haven't seen mention of it on any website, MOL, etc. So, perhaps you guys here can help me find one.

Back when my local Motorola shop was open (Bearcom, they have since closed thier only CT location), they had a plastic radio holder that they used to mount their Motorola portable radios on a wall to display them. The clip was a black plastic piece, with two cut outs (for where you would screw it into a wall, etc.) on each side, with the "M" logo on the center of it. What you do is, you screw this plastic thing to the wall / dash / etc., and the belt clip of the radio just slides in it, and the radio just sits there, facing forwards. It is NOT the metal "car door holder" that Motorola makes, but is described above.

I have NEVER seen these wall holders anywhere besides in their shop.

If anyone has a part number, or better yet has one laying around please let me know, because I could definitely use one.

Thanks !

I believe what you are describing is a "belt clip" that is made to attach to the officers
leather belt. I have seen them used in vehicles (screwed to the plastic dash) and on many
other flat surfaces, and yes they were made of plastic and were black in color.

Well, that's why I'm looking for one, to screw in my dash to mount a portable there. There is really no other solution (becids mounting it on the visor, or on the door jab, which I defintaly do NOT want to do.

That little plastic piece was perfect ! I'd put my cell phone there (for the days I wasn't carrying a radio), or my radio. I beleive I left it on the dash of my last vehicle when I sold it, so some lucky bastard is driving around in a 2005 P74 with my plastic Motorola radio clip attached to the dash lol

Anyway, if anyone can shed some light please let me know. I've even called Wiscomm up, and they have no idea what I'm talking about.

I use a regular leather radio case that I kinda mount on the glove box door. Just put the belt loop sticking into the glove box and shut the door on it, works well and leaves no marks.

While that's an excellent idea, that would not work for me, only because I'd need the bottom of the radio to remain open. (I'm using a Battery Eliminator, and the wire sticks out of the bottom of the battery. So putting it in a case would be very difficult :)

If there was a way for me to post a pic in this forum I could
post it and confirm if is what MT2000man is looking for and
that would give others an idea of the item and if they have it
or not.

Posting pictures is generally easy.

First make sure the picture is on your computer (like in the "My Pictures" folder, etc.). Then, go to an image hosting website, such as Imageshack.com, and simply hit "browse", look for your picture on your computer, then upload the picture using that service, then copy and paste the link where it says "fourms" into the description box here, and the picture will pop up.

I'm really looking forward to see what you have ! I've been on the hunt for that little booger for years !
