Do you have advice or a method to recover a Model D43xxxx Spectra from FL 01/90?
The radio has worked well for 2+ years ... recently I did an extensive setup change, reading and writing Codeplug many times ... saved CP at the start for backup. Suddenly the CP write failed with FL 01/82. Attempted recovery unsuccessfully using the backup CP several times.
Now I have loop "SYSTEM CHECK">>FL 01/90>>"SYSTEM CHECK" endlessly.
Another symptom is the A9 display is dark (appears to be powered off) except for lower voltage using a variable power supply ... display lights up at around 8 volts ... turn the voltage back to 12 volts and the display goes dark again.
I have a backup codeplug but cannot restore it due to the FL 01/90. Thanks very much for any help.

Try http://www.batlabs.com/spectra.html scroll down to FL 01/90 or Corrupt Codeplugs
Re: HELP SPECTRA FL 01/90 RECOVERY
No luck with the procedures mentioned in the ***/spectra.html link mentioned. The Syntor X9000 head did change the display characteristics but did not enable the ability to recover the backup codeplug. The mention of the lab software looks promising ... recognizing the proprietary nature of the lab software, is there a suggestion of somebody I can send the radio to and try the reset of the MLM and firmware? Thanks for any help.

Please reference BatLabs > "The Spectra" > "Power-Up Self Check Error Codes" >
Occurs @ Initial Self Test ... Check 15A Fuse. How do I find the 15A fuse?
"Below is a table that describes the error codes displayed on the VFD after the radio power-up self check, their causes, and possible remedies" ... (table) ... then,
(at the bottom of the topic) it reads, "And, if you run into the Fail 01/92 error, you may be able to clear it with Lab RSS. There is supposed to be a "reset micro" option in there somewhere that may help."
Please comment on the "reset micro" option mentioned there. It seems to me that this might also be a solution to the FAIL 01/90 cycle.
Many thanks for any help or advice you may have.

Re: HELP SPECTRA FL 01/90 RECOVERY
Speaking from recent personal experience, if you connect the ignition sense wire through the rear connector but do NOT connect the positive 12 volts to the power plug you will get a FAIL 1/90 alternating with system check readout. In my case I had simply forgotten to connect the power plug's positive wire, which would be the same thing as your main fuse being open.

Re: HELP SPECTRA FL 01/90 RECOVERY
You are correct aout the ignition sense wire in my own experience ... this configuration is different - has the A7 head and power thru the cable, Aux. plug has pins 2 and 8 jumpered (Emergency), which is correct according to one of the wiring diagrams. I have tried most everything I can find on all the usual sources ... still an endless loop ... Out of ideas for now. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
