HT1250 unresponsive after programming

Post by jchapman »

Unfortunately, my trusty HT1250 appears to have bit the dust.

I was reprogramming the radio with CPS R06.12.02 and an aftermarket USB RIB-less cable, both of which I have used many times with this and other radios without any problems.

Upon attempting to write to the radio, I received an error message stating that the software "Failed to convert database into codeplug image". I saved the codeplug, exited and reopened CPS, and then reopened the codeplug. I attempted to write to the radio again, and then I received another error message stating "Write Device Failed".

Now the radio won't turn on, doesn't display any error codes or messages, and can't be read with CPS. The battery is not the issue.

Is there anything I can do to resolve this problem without having to send it to the depot for service?

don't do anything else until you get a real cable and rib. Don't use usb unless the factory made it and they did not make a usb cable for this radio. I know alot of people on here claim they have found the greatest usb adaptor in the world that works every time but this is what happens. Try the latest cps and the recovery feature.

Unfortunately, this issue also just occurred with my new CDM1250...

I have CPS R06.12.02 which I believe to be a fairly recent version, but I am unable to find any documentation regarding a recovery feature. How do I perform such a recovery? If this version does not support this feature, what is the minimum version that does support it?

If you don't care that you will lose whatever channels you have in the radios, I can fix both of them. PM me if you are interested and we can work out the details. It would be $20 plus the return shipping and they will be fixed. PM me and you can check my feedback here and on e_B_a_y, username eeindhovenbay.
