XTS2500 CPS missing USB port

Post by John »

I have several computers that I am tying to use Astro25 Portable CPS on and the USB port does not show up as an option. The Radio port shows up in Windows Device Manager and can even remove and reinstall the USB driver but when I open the CPS the only option shown is COM1. I have removed and reinstalled the CPS several times but I just can't seem to get the USB option to show up. I am using CPS 9.0 since I have radios with FPP and Trunking.

I have CPS 15 for mobiles installed on the same computers and the USB works fine there. I just won't show up in the portable CPS.

Any ideas? Is it a conflict with have 2 different versions of CPS installed on the same computer? I have this same problem on 3 different PCs. All running Windows 7 Home Professional 32-bit.

What radios do you own?: APX

Just a guess, but you might be having a conflict with Windows 7 and CPS R09. Windows 7 wasn't supported in the Astro25 CPS until R15, so that might be causing an issue with CPS R09.

Stupidity creates job security!

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..

CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.
