RMN5038A nuisance delete

Post by sjxts3000 »

I've programmed the man down button on my XTS3000R for the Nuisance Delete function. No issues there.
I have an RMN5038A speaker mic and want to know if it's possible to program the emergency/mandown button on it to also be a nuisance delete. The CPS only lists top, middle and left options for buttons (top buttons and side buttons...there are no side buttons on the 5038). Anyone know if what I want to do is possible and if so, which "top button" is it? I've actually tried programming all three and still no dice.

The buttons on the mic emulate the same on the radio. There is no separate programming for them.

Out of the box, it doesn't work like that (that was the first thing I tried, trust me). I then tried programming *all* the "top buttons" (in CPS under "Hand Held Control Head") to Nuisance Delete. Still no luck.

Also, I'm on firmware R07.11.00.00

Is there any way to program the emergency button on the RMN5038A for anything *other* than Emergency/ManDown?
The owner's manual that came with the unit indicates that programming is *required* for the Emergency button to work, but it only gives instructions on what to program for the actual Emergency feature and nothing else.

The settings in the cps your referring to are for use with the HHCH via the XTVA.

You host might be too old to support the mic.

Put the radio in test mode to where you can do button press tests and see if the button registers.

If I had one here to test I would but unfortunately I don't.

Man down button on the emergency RSM is just that, the man down button IIRC. It does not carry the orange button up from the radio. This is atypical from the behavior of emergency buttons on other motorola rsms

You also have to enable man down in the cps for those don't you?

Pretty sure you're right about that. Also have to set up revert channels in the emergency tab I think

What radios do you own?: APX4K, XTS5K, 2500, XPR7550

escomm you remember correctly, sir. The man down button doesn't emulate anything else that the top button might be programmed for on the radio in the CPS other than Man Down itself. All of my RSM's are the 5038 and I wish it could take on whatever I program the radio to do but it's a no go.
