Impres Microphone

Post by KI4RGV »

Hey Guys,

I need a little help. At my job we have recently switched to APX6000 800MHz radios. We issue the police and firefighters HMN4104A Impres RSM Display Mics. We also purchased clear earpieces for them. On a few of the mics, we cannot get the audio to pass to the eartubes.

Any ideas?

Peter.

Have you tried trouble shooting and swapping mics and ear pieces to see where the problem is? If the problem lies with the ear piece, I know from experience that the acoustic tube can get clogged with water - seams to occur from the hot air from the ear condensing in the tube, or the ear insert can get clogged with ear wax. I usually blow some compressed air into the tube to clear it out. The ear side elbow may also be clogged, also check the nipple on the transducer / speaker with the clip. Best of luck
