CDM1250 Remote Speaker

Post by jchabalie »

Here is my project. We have a CDM1250 base radio in our "radio room". I would like to run 1, possibly 2 speakers from the radio to our apparatus bays and to our lounge. My question is, how would I go about running the 1 or 2 speakers from the radio itself and if I do run them, will the actual speaker on the radio keep working in the "radio room"?

The best way is to use a little PA amp with a 70 volt output. With a 70 volt line to speaker transformer at each speaker in the bay.

The line input to the PA amp would be from the CDM's filtered audio output that is NOT affected by the CDM's volume control.
