Post by martingeorge »

What does it mean when the display has "LIC34 A" after power up? It beeps once and shows this on the display. None of the buttons seem to have any effect.

Thank you

Perhaps that's just the channel name that's currently programmed into it? Have you tried to reprogram it?

Don't know how. Is this radio a single channel model?

Thanks

You are not going to get anywhere until you try to program the radio. You might even have an option board in there.

Read the radio and post back with your results.

Not sure what you are asking for. Label on the bottom has
Type DGCUA
Tanapa: HUE3518A
Model M44DGC95A2AA
1225 Series

Does this Help?

Thanks

OK, Sounds like you need to pay a visit to your local Motorola shop or similar to have them help you program it...

How can I tell if it is just a program issue with out taking it to a dealer? I may want to get it programed so I can use it but I don't want to repair it if that is also what it needs.

Unless you have access to programming software, you can't. My best suggestion, bring it to the dealer & ask them to program it with whatever frequencies you're thinking of using...be aware there will be a programming fee which varies from shop to shop. If they cannot program it, they'll let you know it has an issue, at which point you can say forget it...they may not charge you since they couldn't do the programming.
No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.

Hello:
From the tag from your radio :
You have a Motorola M1225 LS mobile.
It is a 40 watt model that operates on a LTR trunking system and can not operate without being affiliated with a LTR trunking type tower if you are attempting to use it as a trunked type radio.
However the radio will do two conventional channels that will operate without a LTR tower if programmed to do so.
The radios specs for freqeuncy band limits for tx or rx is 450 to 474 mhz.
If you want the radio to work as in just radio to radio (Simplex mode)then it needs programmed for the proper freqeuncy with another the same to work with.
The radio can however also work through a repeater if you had one up and running on conventional .
Not a lot of info given on your mobile that would be needed and isnt available unless the owner has it or otherwise it takes a windows computer and corect rib along with the M1225 LS program to read radios programming and then programmed to your needs if not corect already.
If you got the radio off of say EBAY for example i believe we all can agree its not going to be properly programmed to work for your freqs and tones or LTR trunked tower and will need reprogrammed.
Good Luck
