Mototrbo mobile programming cable help!

Trying to build a XPR mobile programming cable. I saw another thread ( I think in this group ) and followed what he did ....Mine will not work.
USB has 4 wires, red +5V, black gnd, green usb+, and white usb- ....

I have red to pin 3, black to pin 4 green to pin 1, and white to pin 2 on my XPR accy connector.

When I plug it into my computer I get a "USB device not recognized" message and it will not read/write .....???

Can anyone help ?

have you tried the cable on another PC?
what version of windows are you using?

Im debating if its the PC (windows) or the cable... hard to tell at the moment
