RKR1225 on/off switch

Post by w0en »

What exactly are you turning off when you rotate the front panel volume control off so the channel number goes out? If the unit is not being used and is a spare is it still drawing power without unplugging it too?

In the RKR1225 the on/off switch turns off the 12 volts to the receiver, exciter and control circuits in the R1225 radio. The only thing left is the 12 volts from the two pin power cable that is on the PA which does not draw any current.

The 12 volt power supply is still running off of the AC power. So yes the RKR1225 IS drawing power from the AC line.
