HT750 Problem

Post by johnny1225 »

Does anyone know if there is any other companies that i can get Q110 RF power fet module motorola part # 48-02245J55. Motorola says this part is no longer available, and this part is a common part in the HT750, EX500 and CT250 that go alot. I right now have 5 HT750 that need this part, and im wondering if there is a suppler out there that makes this part or if anyone can point me in the right direction.

regards,

I have been investigating about it and I found that the new model radio PR860 uses an identical board than ht750 and ht1250 and on that board Motorola use the transistor 4813828A09 (Tstr 8W 450 MHz). It could be the substitute of the 4802245J55.

Let me know any news about it.

Thanks

Make sure you check your antenna, antenna swt and CR101. We have found that an intermittent open antenna will cause these to blow. Since checking our antenna's on a yearly PM cycle we have seen a reduction in Blown Q110's. We have found several antenna swt's J101 that have not been soldered from the factory or have been intermittent. We have been using the 4813828A09 parts.

Motorola says you can send the radio in to their repair "depot" and for $130.00 they will fix it - rather than sell you the part to fix it yourself. I would rather buy the part, if anyone knows for sure if the 4813828A09 is an exact replacement. Thanks in advance for any help.

Just a note for all - I am going to order a few of these and try them out - Motorola says this is a good number at roughly $36.50 list each - any cheaper location pls let me know. Thanks.

Good news - the part mentioned above is an exact replacement for the J55 power fet - I installed it in an HT1250 today and it puts out good power - tx current is normal - about 1.5 A - the only down side is that it is rather difficult to change out.
