CDM1550ls trunking to conv conversion

Post by k5ils »

I have a CDM1550ls+ 220mhz. I have read the band limit mod stuff and understand it thanks to OTAKU's write up. But I am wondering if converting to conventional only is just a matter of loading one of the Conventional firmware files in the US WARIS LAB Upgrade kit.

If so, which one? My radio currently is on 05.03.00 and in the upgrade kit there are two files, one is 256k and the other is 512K. The file names are:

conv_warisM_pref_256k_R050802.0 and conv_warisM_pref_512k_R050802.0

Thanks
Robert

Unfortunately, it is more complex than just upgrading the firmware of the radio. Head back to that thread you mentioned and take it slow.

First, read and save the tuning data!
Select and program the radio, with a codeplug, that match to your needs(conventional only).
The firmware is not a problem.Begin with the smallest file and stop when the radio works.
Older radios need the smaller firmware file and the newer radios the bigger one.
