HT1250 Sidetone Question

Post by vb105 »

Hey folks, I've searched through the board and didn't find any topics which match with what I'm trying to accomplish. Our local PD is using MDC1200 post signalling and would like to keep it that way. Although it would be great if we could have a short PTT sidetone so that it prevents the user from speaking to fast into the mic and not giving the repeater time to key up. Of course when POST MDC is selected, the sidetone option goes away (grays out).

Anyone out there try hex editing the program so that this doesn't happen. If so, does it work?

Sounds pretty lame but you could do a pre and a post... with DOS enabled to mute the pre squawk. Of course it will mute the post squawk as well but you get your sidetone and your PTT ID...
