MCS2000 Head swaps

Post by Motradio »

Been a long while, but I'm back messing with some /\/\ hardware. Picked up a MCS2000 Type III but might like the Type II head for my use (not sure yet). The question seems to have been answered that you could swap a Type II head on a Type III radio, then in other posts looks like swaps require more work (codeplug),

In any case what's the skinny on swaping a Type III head with a Type II head and while I have your ear a Type II to a Type III :D

Thanks!

You can do it for testing/programming purposes but the button assignments won't line up without blowing in a matching s-record.

Thanks, I'll have to save some code plugs and mess with it when I get a Model II and Model III radio.
