800mhz Handhelds for Type I

Post by N6LAU »

I'm looking into aquiring a 800mhz radio that is capable of Type I and was curious which radios will do Type I other than MTX800s, ie Jedi and newer?

If you are talking about Type 1 trunking, then the MTS2000 will do it. Plenty of those on e-Bay.

Plenty of MTX 8000's available real cheap now that they won't work on rebanded systems. GARY N4KVE

I've done it on Smartzone-flashed MTS2000s. (000008-000000-x) You might find one of those for cheap if it has a 256K controller and won't take a rebanding flash.
edit: I do NOT know if Windows CPS will let you do it. Use DOS RSS if at all possible.
