And to further clarify I am looking for the pinout/diagram of the secret squirrel Y-Cable that supposedly lets you use a W3 HHCH with the AVA
Thanks

This is the only AVA service manual I know of: http://www.4shared.com/document/6YH2m1H ... M_AVA.html

All indications I found point to the Y-cable containing data level-shifting hardware and a specific unknown version of the NTN7727 cradle being required. I tested version B and E cradles and found nothing resembling SB9600 data on the 25-pin accessory connector. I have also heard of a hack which ran leads directly from the radio connector to the mic jack or accessory connector to carry SB9600 data to the head but IDK which pins on the radio connector were pulled. Either way you would still need to use radios with HOST firmware between AP_R03.20.xx and R05.60.xx as anything newer eliminated or restricted the SB9600 data output AND the radio's codeplug would need to have the HHCH buttons enabled.. not just the top and side buttons but the front keypad buttons as well.

I guess you read this thread, right? That is the only AVA/HHCH setup I know of to exist and function.
