Tuning data on maxtrac rf bd ??????

Post by Satelite »

Hello:
During a set up of a new rf bd HLE9310C uhf rf bd i came to the screen asking for the crystals tuning data.
Not the crystals two four digit numbers.
Anyway i have never run into the number as ill post before and theres one too many numbers for the feild in the initiation screen.
That tuning data number is H2604109-5 or 42604109-5
Cant decide with certainty if the 4 is an H or vice versa and still dont understand the -5 part.
Anyone else ever see this on a rf bd ?
The rf bd is brand new out of the package.
Thanx Satelite

The tuning data only allows certain ranges of values. I don't think it would take the "4" as the first digit. Based on past experience, the 7-digit tuning value would most likely be 2604109. The initalization screen asks if your tuning data number has an H or not, and since yours has it, you'd enter an H in that single-character field.

I don't understand the -5 either, but I think you can just ignore it as RSS won't accept more than 7 digits there anyway.

Nice of them to write it in a way that's ambiguous. Too bad they hand-write instead of type those numbers on the label.

Hello kcbooboo :
You are corect the tuning data if entered as 426 rather than H260 does get kicked out per rss as invalid.
So i entered 260 and entered the H in the single field and it took.
After making the soft pot adjustments on the rf bd and fine tuning with program all looks good per the service monitor.
So id have to believe your corect in your assumptions.
